A Daunting Adventure: The Beginnings of a Farmhouse Renovation
Sometimes life surprises you in the best ways — and that’s exactly what happened when we found our farmhouse. We weren’t actively house hunting. In fact, we were perfectly content where we were. But then, like the best stories often begin, we stumbled across this beautiful old farmhouse and instantly fell in love.
Set on two peaceful acres, complete with a charming old barn and a flourishing prairie, the property felt like it had been waiting for us. The house itself had great bones: a solid foundation, sturdy framing, and an undeniable character that had stood the test of time. Cosmetically, it needed a lot of love, but we could see the incredible potential hiding behind the peeling paint and worn finishes.
The day we closed on the house, we couldn’t resist capturing a photo to mark the start of our new adventure. (That’s us — happy, a little overwhelmed, and ready to take on this new chapter!) It’s a snapshot of a moment when excitement outweighed uncertainty, and dreams felt tangible.
Our vision is to breathe new life into this farmhouse while preserving the charm that made us fall for it in the first place. There’s a lot of work ahead — peeling back the old layers, updating spaces, and making it truly ours — and we couldn’t be more excited to share the journey with you.
